Historical Adventure Movies

The adventures of Indiana Jones is the best movie series ever created in my personal taste (besides The Pirates of the Caribbean) They had a special where they played all the movies one after another. I was so pumped for it I set an alarm 2 days prior on my DVR so I wouldn't miss a second of epic adventures. The reason I think these movies have done so well over the years is there story line. The story lines are based on myths that exist in our world today and use real historical references (much like the National Treasure movies with Nicholas Cage dealing with the free masion's and actually in the second movie they are trying to find the same treasure "El Dorado" the legendary city of gold) like looking for the holy grail and the lost ark. Whats so intriguing is that its the myth exists in history and it gives you a reason to believen in the unknown and undiscovered.
The Pirate of the Caribbean movie series is the same type of trilogy is made in the same fashion i believe. The movies encompass legends from pirates back in the day, The Flying Dutchman (who controls who is banashed to Davy Jones Locker), Treasures stolen from Aztec Indians by Cortez himself that are cursed by the Gods, and in the new movie coming out soon which is the adventure to find the notorious "Fountain of Youth."
Though Indiana Jones has more concrete historical references I enjoy both movies one just as much as the other.
